Amid growing financial challenges for local hospitals, access to medical care for Chicago’s Black and Latino populations is at risk

Chicago is home to eight nonprofit community hospitals serving mostly low-income Black and Latino neighborhoods. Three now face mounting financial challenges, putting 528 inpatient hospital beds in those neighborhoods at risk.
