Buildings in unincorporated Miami-Dade County overdue on their 40-year safety recertifications

An emergency county audit identified 24 “deficient” buildings that had not completed their required electrical and structural assessments as of June 29, 2021 across the unincorporated portions of Miami-Dade County, which are home to more than 1 million people.
