Where did police evacuate residents?

Faced with a fast-moving fire on Aug. 8, Maui County police evacuated only a few Kuhua Camp streets.

A map showing most of the streets within Kuhua Camp neighborhood were not being evacuated by police or through P.A. System. Streets where officers did door-to-door evacuations and P.A. evacuations are Hookahua Place and Kuialua Street. Streets outside Kuhua Camp where officers gave evacuation orders over P.A. systems are Kanakea Loop, Kahena Street, Kauhi Place, Keaka Place, Kaalo Place, Kanua Street, Kaakepa Street, Kalena Street, Lui Street, Kelawea Steet, Pauoa Street and Paunau Street (and on Lahainaluna near Pauoa Street Paunau Stree). Streets within Kuhua Camp where officers gave evacuations over P.A. systems are Aki Street (between Lui Street and Kale Street) and Kale Street. Streets within Kuhua Camp where officers did not go on the day of the fire are Kuhua Street, Keone Street, Kamamalu Street, Aki Street (between Kuhua and Kaili), Kopili Street, Puiki Place, Kaili Place, Paeohi Street, Hauola Place, Kauhi Place and Mela Street.
